HELEN Morrisson
About Me
Searching for support can feel overwhelming and may bring up difficult emotions. But the courage to face yourself is one of the bravest challenges you can undertake 💪. As a counsellor, I believe it's essential to create a compassionate, warm, and safe space 🌸 where you can explore your feelings and problems. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, understood, accepted, and with a clearer sense of direction ✨.
I strive to build an honest, individual, and meaningful therapeutic relationship with you 🤝.
Our sessions will always be centred around your needs, interests, and preferences. With a master’s degree in counselling and another in psychology 🎓, I integrate a range of approaches including creative interventions (like sandtray, art 🎨, music 🎶, movement), psychoeducation, mindfulness 🧘♀️, psychodynamic methods, and cognitive behavioural techniques.
I work with adults and adolescents across educational, care, and mental health settings, as well as privately 🧑🤝🧑.
I consider my role a privilege, and I will never take your trust for granted.
TESTIMONIAL(S)
1. "I’ve visited and spoken with five different therapists in my life but, by far, Helen is the best. Her holistic approach to counselling is flexible, adaptive, and completely conscientious of your frame of mind. I feel Helen has given me the ability to have fun with myself, knowing that sometimes I am my own best company, whilst also providing a necessary challenge at times when I am in my own way" — CPI
2. “Helen helped me overcome an extremely traumatic experience and situation. In the 7 months I’ve been working with her, she has seen me at my worst, celebrated my wins, and been an extremely useful person to have in my corner." — CPI
3. “Helen’s use of unconventional techniques, including breathing exercises, art, and activity, helped me engage with therapy in a uniquely fulfilling way. If traditional therapy has left you feeling uncomfortable or unsettled, I highly recommend working with Helen as she offers a safe, supportive and professional environment that places you as her client at the centre." — CPI
3. “Thank you so much for all you have done to build me back up to the confident, happy person I once was. I was an anxious mess in that first session, feeling things I could not even begin to express and yet you heard, not just what I said but, what I was feeling. Your validation allowed my inner self to finally feel comforted and safe enough to begin the healing process. If it wasn’t for you I would be carrying this trauma around allowing it to affect me at the worst times. I have close friends and family but their support was like a dressing to my wounds, your sessions were like medicine. It took just 1 session to feel “I am not alone I can do this”, 3 sessions to feel at peace with myself and my circumstances, and only 5 sessions to be confident in my decisions and ready to go live my best life. I’ve learned so much about life, new things after 40yrs that I wish I knew ages ago. You are amazing! Thank you." — CPI
